Merry Christmas!

I can not believe that Christmas has come and gone already! Where did the time go!?  I am always humbled when I am asked to provide my services for an event.  I created these centerpieces for a married couples Christmas party about two weeks ago.  The mix of red, silver and gold ornaments are always great color combination for any Christmas or holiday occasion.  Below I decorated the fireplace mantel, which served as a perfect backdrop for photos.
What are your favorite colors to use for the holidays?

Baby Girl!

This post is a little late, but I wanted to share this idea for a "It's a girl" baby shower.  My client wanted something really simple, but pretty.  So I immediately thought of.....you guessed it- paper poms!  The idea is very similar to the "It's a Boy"  decorations that I posted earlier this year (see below).  I was able to add a few more accessories for detail, and I added ribbon to compliment her colors of chocolate brown and pink.  Another way to add more detail is to dress up the napkins by using ribbon related to the theme.  There are several simple ways to make an event more special, and it's easy on the budget!

Fall Fo.li.age!

Fall is my ABSOLUTE favorite season!  Being a Fashion major, I still get a little giddy when the all fall fashion magazines come out!  I love the forecast for the colors, sweaters, boots- all of it!  With events it can be very much the same.  I created this centerpiece for an event, but I wasn't able to use it due to some last minute changes.  I was still able to incorporate the fall colors with these leaves, and then enhance the theme with the floating candle.  This centerpiece didn't make it this year, but next year it will be making an appearance!

Peacock Feathers!

I was recently hired by a bride that loves peacock feathers. I knew this was a big trend, but I wasn't familiar with working with them, or any other feather for that matter. This was also my first time working with water pearls (last photo).  So I experienced working with some new items.   But I must admit, the color combination of the teal blue and purple are really pretty!   I created four different options, and she loved them all!  I'm going to use the centerpiece above for the bridal party head table.  The other two options that she chose are below.  Are you a fan of peacock feathers?

"Day in the Life"

I am honored to be featured in the "Day in the Life" series by the Planners Lounge!  I stumbled upon this website while researching for information on how to improve my business.  The Planners Lounge is an awesome resource for event and wedding planners like me.  Whether you're just starting out or a veteran in the industry. I really appreciate Deb Orwat for all that she does!  The information that she shares is priceless!  For details click on the link below:

Budget Friendly Centerpieces!

Many of the clients that I work with have a limited budget.  Which is no problem for me-I'm always up for a challenge!  This just means that I have to think of some creative ideas that won't break the budget-yet is still appealing.  The centerpiece in this photo was less than $5 to create!  I added tulle and ribbon for simple detail and created the candle holder from the Dollar Tree, added a tealight candle and voila!  These made a simple yet beautiful statement for my client's dinner party.

Candles!

Candles make everything better!  Some people say the same thing about cheese, well I feel the same way about candles! LOL!  I use them in pretty much every event that I design. Candles are easy to use, inexpensive, and are a great complement to any centerpiece.
In this setting I used a few of my favorite glass centerpieces with floating candles, and mirrors for the runner.  This a simple and budget friendly idea for your next table setting or dinner party.

I also used candlesticks and a longer stem candle holder to add some dimension in height. Many of these items can be found at the Dollar Tree or Walmart!

What do you like to use for centerpieces?

Project Revamp!

Have you ever revamped something?  Like an outfit or moved your furniture around to make the room look better?  Well, I did that with this particular centerpiece.  I created it last June for a bride that didn't have a big budget, but wanted something nice.  It's basically the same centerpiece, but I wanted to change a few things about it.  So I changed the vase to a reversible trumpet, added a base to the water color vases to give them height, and napkins and plates.  Below is a photo of the original centerpiece.  I also think that multiple centerpieces make more of a statement. There are a few subtle changes- not too much of a difference, but I like the revamped setting better. :)

What do you think?

Baby Shower: It's a Boy!

One thing that I really enjoy is creating new ideas for events!  I had a conversation with my client about what she wanted for her upcoming baby shower.  There weren't any particular details discussed, just that she wanted it to be really nice.  The next day she sent me a picture of the napkins, and other items she purchased for the shower.  The color theme was baby blue and chocolate brown; that simple color combination inspired me to create this!  I sent her a picture, and she loved it!  I'll be adding some other details to really make the room come together.  (I will post the final pictures after this weekend.)  I am truly excited that my client will enjoy the baby shower she's always wanted!
