Happy New Year everyone! So, as usual I am a little behind on posting, so please forgive me! Last month (year), I hosted another brunch in my home for my friends. So here are few pictures of the table top decorations. Each guest was able to take their name plate home and a special little gift!

Back in July (that seems so long ago!) I celebrated my birthday! I wanted to be around my friends, eat good food and laugh all day! I did just that! So it all started with buying a table runner in my favorite color Blush. Some call it pale pink, soft pink etc. Being that it had gold sequins, I used that as the accent color for the plate chargers, napkin rings, silverware, place card holders and custom made menus. Each of my guests also received a gift! One of my friends is a pastry chef, so she made my favorite white chocolate raspberry scones, and now another favorite, shrimp and grits!
Delicious Shrimp and Grits!
A special gift for my guests!

Hello! I know it has been a while since I last posted, so I apologize for the delay! I've had a busy 7 months so far. This is my third milestone birthday celebration that I have decorated for! I will post pics soon, I promise! I loved decorating for this particular event because I knew the guest of honor personally, and because of the color theme! My client chose the color theme Tiffany Blue, with accents of silver My client is also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, so she requested that elephants (which symbolizes strength and determination) be incorporated. She was very happy with the results! See below for additional photos.
White lounge furniture was added to the room to create a more intimate seating space, I added the sequin pillows for an added pop of color.
Silver elephants were added to "50" topper.
The party was hosted in the beautiful River Room at the Town & Country Club.
I created this pretty backdrop for photo opportunities.

Last October I was contacted by the Minnesota Local Organizing Committee to submit a proposal to created 30 centerpieces for the NCAA Final Four Friends & Family Brunch. The MLOC wanted the centerpieces to be something that attendees would be use and remember Minnesota for. The centerpieces would be raffled off, and attendees could win them as a prize. There were four themes: Music, Cabin Life, State Fair and Golf. I was awarded the bid in February, so I was pretty excited and got to work right away! I spent a lot of time on shopping for the items that went in the centerpiece and the what the items would go in. I wanted to create something that the attendees would want to win. Once that process was finalized, it was easy to duplicate each one. I created (7) Music, (7) Golf, (8) State Fair and (8) Cabin Life centerpieces. Below is the final product!
For the Music theme I chose Prince! I know there are other successful musicians and bands that came out of Minnesota, but Prince is the most memorable. The centerpiece included a "Purple Rain" DVD, Prince Greatest Hits CD, a Prince logo decal and a guitar that is actually a pen.
For the State Fair theme I promoted local Minnesota company "Candy Land". It's my favorite place to go for Chicago Mix! Being that we put anything and everything "on-a-stick", I decided to put the popcorn balls "on-a-stick", included was a small bag of Chicago Mix and a Chicago Mix t-shirt.
In the Cabin Life centerpieces I chose some classic table-top games. I used the themed stickers to accent the theme.
And for Golf, the centerpieces included golf balls, golf tees, a golf brush and towel, and a mini golf club which is also a pen. I added a couple of golf flags for detail.

Last month I had the honor of co-hosting an intimate bridal shower in my home for a very special bride! She didn't have a favorite color, so I used her wedding colors of black and white. I love using the colors black and white together, the result is always a classic look! I could have used a pop of color, but decided to just accent with a little bling and silver. If you are planning a bridal shower or baby shower in your home, or intimate space, remember to keep it simple and use what you have. I didn't use of a lot of space, but utilized my end tables, dining room table and kitchen island to highlight the decorations.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! There is so much to be THANKFUL for! I was busy the Sunday after Black Friday setting up for this "Pretty In Pink" baby shower! I had a lot of fun preparing for this event, it had been a while since I'd decorated for a girl baby shower. (See my blog post "Backyard Transformation" on July 10, 2017). My client gave me the freedom to design this event, her only request was pink & white for the color palette. You may see a couple of signature items that I like to use, like the white wood letters and my beloved paper poms. My client provided the treat table, which tied in perfectly with the colors. The space wasn't very large, enough room for 20-25 guests. I chose to use the kitchen island as a focal point for the baby's name and the jumbo alphabet boxes. My client was very happy, she stated it was all she expected and more! Words that I love to hear!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to decorate for a joint Sweet 16 birthday party! The party was held at H. White Men's Room in North Minneapolis. What a great and unique space! It had lots of hard wood with industrial accents and plenty of natural lighting. H. White Men's Room is an upscale barbershop, but also serves as a gathering place for the community. It's complete with a coffee bar and retail space. Although it was an intimate space, it had lots to offer for decorating!
